DESCRIPTION: Gilded Lyre Timepiece marked "N, H. Brown", with arabic numerals, gilded bezel, carved and gilded lyre section, swelled side base and gilded pedestal below, eight day time only movement stamped "N. H. Brown" powered by a lead weight and regulated by a wooden pendulum rod and brass faced bob.
CONDITION: Movement wants cleaning, lower glass loose in frame, minor losses on gilding, probable original 20th century finish. No weight or finial. Nelson H. Brown was a Boston clock dealer. Tablets in this clock by W. W. Sprague & Co. who supplied many Boston area glasses in this early 20th century period.
